After talking so much about Char Restaurant with my girls, we are finally here to give it a try.
And what's all the hype you say?
All that is because the Head Chef at Char Restaurant is no other than Wendy's Hubby!

So obviously, we are obligated to go try lah! HAHA! MAI SIAO SIAO!

Recently, they shifted from their old place at Guillemard to the current place now at Jalan Besar... Just in case you don't know where either of these places are, the current one is near Swee Choon Dim Sum, so yah, not that ULU right? HAHA!

It's a Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant and they are well-know for their Special Char Siew!!

Look at the wordings on the glass panel...
It's WENDY's HANDWRITING!!!

Super love their industrial-style interior! Don't even feel like you are in a Chinese restaurant.
So hip and cool, suitable for youngsters like us! HEhHEheheh!

A very nice place for Blogshop Modelling too! HAhahhahahahaha! > <

See what I meant? Super got feel right?

这里的猪都会飞呢!

Below are their Menu!
All look so YUMMILICIOUS!!!
Can we eat already?!! Damn hungry please!

Triple Roast at $30

(We ordered the Special Char Siew, Roast Duck and Crispy Pork Belly)
You may pick 3 out of their 4 choices of Special Char Siew, Roast Duck, Soya Chicken and their Crispy Pork Belly (Siu Yoke! / Sio Bak!)

CAN I TELL YOU! THE CHAR SIEW I CANNOT DESCRIBE! It is really melt-in-your-mouth goodness! Damn SHIOKKKKK!! I researched online about their Char Siew before I came here and I thought they were too over on their blog but BOY AM I SO WRONG!

The Char Siew is so tender and juicy, the fats melts in your mouth ever so subtly. The sauce was sweet and sticky but not too jelat! NOMS! All I need now is a bun so I can eat it like a Kong Bak Bao! HAHAHAHHAH!

It is really a Must-order dish. No wonder they call it their Special Char Siew...

Oh, and if you're planning to go there on the weekends, PLEASE make a reservation beforehand and reserve their Roasts! I have heard a lot of times their roasts ran out even before 8pm!
DO NOT FORGET!

Yes, you also can order their Roasts separately. $6 per 100gm but with a minimum order of at least 300gm. But I am sure you can finish one lah! Why worry? Wahahahahah

The skin was crispy! Correct proportion of meat and fats altogether!
Nice!

A Quarter of a Soya Chicken at $10

We didn't choose which part of the chicken we wanted. It came with mostly breast meat and I prefer thigh! However, this was a pretty decent dish. But if you have a small stomach and would like to try other dishes, you might want to consider giving this dish a pass.

Salted Egg Pork at $14

Everything is Salted Egg now... It is certainly the "trendy" food now...
Salted Egg Pasta, Crabs, Breads, this and that~
BUT BUT BUT... nothing can go wrong with Salted Egg! WHAHAHAHAH~
With Salted Egg, anything goes... Hehehhehehe!

Nevertheless, this dish is really YUMS too! Thin layer of crust on the outside with the tender meat on the inside. The Salted Egg sauce are just the right amount, covering each piece of meat perfectly! Sound very kua zhang right?!
Try it to see if I am lying lor!

Minced pork with Aubergine in Casserole at $14

Basically it's minced pork with eggplant lah. Aubergine is a fancy way of calling it lah. This is great with a bowl of rice. the eggplant was soft and it absolutely absorbed the flavor from the sauce! Amazeballssssss~

Shredded Duck Noodle Soup at $10

Another way to eat Char's Roasted Duck is to have it shredded and in a bowl of vermicelli and light broth!! This is nice, not to salty though I am really not a noodle person.

Beef Hor Fun at $12

I cannot take beef due to personal reason but I did try the Hor Fun. It lacks a little Wok-Hei (Breath of the Wok) so it was only so-so for me. But I did see a lot of people ordering this dish though.

Dou Miao (Pea Sprouts) with Dried Scallops Sauce at $12

Not a bad dish, sauce comes with mushrooms too instead of only dried scallops.
I LIKEY!

All these just for the 5 of us! Can you imagine?!
And I kid you not that we FINISH THEM ALL!! HAHAHHHA

Here comes the HEAD CHEF!!!
来来来!

WEFIE!

So, what are you still waiting for?!!!

MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS ALREADY!
